Columbus has an amazing Zoo!

I think because I have grown up in the Columbus area I have just taken the Columbus Zoo for granted.  It is a place we have always taken the kids over the years, had season passes for when my kids were young…and have always enjoyed.

They are always working to make it bigger and better. Jack Hannah basically put it on the map and still comes for frequent visits.  You can see any kind of animal your heart desires.

There is a fantastic Aquarium where they even have manatees. There are many opportunities for the kids to interact at the zoo too.

I could kick myself for not having more pictures of animals to show you! I have bunches in my photo albums from when my older boys were young! We haven’t been to the zoo this year, but my favorite time to go is in the spring or fall…when it is cool. Then more animals are out and they are more active.  If you go in the evening my suggestion is to get there early in the day so you get to see them the most active.

They have different events planned for the different seasons.  At Halloween they have Boo at the Zoo and the kids all come dressed up.  Then there are candy stations set up throughout the zoo that the kids visit and get candy.

At Christmas time they have a beautiful Festival of Lights, with hot chocolate ice skating.   Be sure to check it out the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium!
